Yes, it’s true we have been involved in the trafficking of small plastic-headed children as of late. And it’s hard for us to admit it but we really do believe that the child is in a better place now. With a parent who will be able to provide more for it then we ever could. …sniffle. The silver lining on this dark cloud of baby-less sadness is that someone did spot our former child recently. Below is a picture of our former offspring with his new father B.o.B.
This picture was taken at a live performance at Six Flags in Chicago, IL. And in case you’re not in the know about this whole magic baby business, then watch the video below and it will explain.
That’s right kids and kidettes we just finished another cover song and video! This time we chose the Bruno Mars song Just The Way You Are. It’s a really awesome tune and we think it’ll be a big hit. A huge thanks goes out to all the lovely ladies that made this video possible. Hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.
It’s been a pretty awesome week for us. We are set to release the first single from our forthcoming album Forever, Never, Maybe and, the real icing on the pastry, is that we are proud to announce our “formal” association with Jim Dunlop Manufacturing. For those not in the know, we’re not talkin’ about tires for your car. These fine folks have been making world-class gear for musicians since 1965!
This is super exciting for us because we already rock lots of Dunlop gear. Once the album is out you’ll get to hear my Zakk Wylde Overdrive and Kirk Hammett Signature Wah all over it. And when you’re in the company of names like those you know there’s no need to doubt that your gear is gonna sound great and be built like a Sherman tank. Speaking personally, I’ve also relied on their picks and maintenance products for years. REALLY GOOD STUFF!
Yup, it’s that time! We’ve almost made it to summer and with the weather getting warmer and us getting busier I’m getting a little anxious. It’s hard to wait for those nights when its still so warm at midnight that you don’t even want to think about going to bed. And I try not to get too juiced up at practice thinking about all the shows we are gonna play. I just want the warm weather, the rockin, and the weekend BBQ’s to start happening already! I try to be patient and zen and all that stuff, but it’s hard. I’ve gotta a really good feeling that the coming months are gonna be very exciting for everyone though.
All I can do is keep feeding you guys pictures and hoping that you are watching our videos and remembering that we do have a store and remind you guys that we love you all. (even if you smell)
Love and Soap,
AND BY THE WAY DONBON! YOU ARE A HORRIBLE PERSON! WE LOST OUR FRIEND MAHREEN TO HER DR. MARIO ADDICTION BECAUSE YOU HAD TO GO AND LEAVE YOUR NES HERE… She will be missed.
We’ve been practicing a lot lately and working hard to keep all the good peeps of the world entertained. Gotta say we are all pretty surprised at how quickly the live show is coming together. I’m pretty stoked and I want to know how y’all gonna respond to the live power of the DUM. We’ll just have to wait and see now though…
In other news there are new pictures in the pictures section and on the Facebook.
AND!!! …(insert dramatic pause here)… We did a cover of the up and coming hit “Airplanes” by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams. Well, actually David and Mahreen did the cover and Scott Miller was kind enough to work his mixing voodoo on it. And… well what else can I say? IT’S AWESOME! WATCH IT! RATE IT! FRIGGIN’ SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL SO I DON’T HAVE TO KEEP HOUNDING YOU PEOPLE WHEN WE PUT UP VIDEOS!
Uploaded some new pics from our mini-vaca to Orcutt Burgers and Crosby’s. The burgers were pretty awesome but the WINGS RULE! Highly recommended if you are going to be in Incline Village. Be sure to get them double-dipped.
Also, if you get a chance I started reading this really awesome book, Practicing, by Glenn Kurtz. If you are a guitar player or any type of musician who has had formal training you really should check this book out.
Having gone to Musicians Institute in Hollywood I’ve had my fair share of just sitting and practicing and practicing and practicing with my instrument; and to be quite honest every now and then I get really burned out on playing guitar. It’s hard for me to take something that I love more than words can express and then try to unravel all the mysteries of it. All the romance and intrigue goes right out the window and some days I just walk right by it and try to ignore the nagging sense of guilt that comes with not playing it. But then there are the days when I lose track of time and even my hands while playing the guitar and I fall head-first into this wonderful cacophony of notes and rhythms that takes me to a place where I’m free; without a care in the world. And that’s the kind of thing that this book talks about. It’s not about “how to practice” or “what to practice;” it’s about the experience of honing your craft and becoming all that you are meant to become as a musician. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
